The days of pushy sales people are long gone. Consumer knowledge and power is at an all time high and you can either go with the wave or battle on against it with out dated sales and marketing techniques.

First a fairy tale: Once upon a time you could put a sparkly new advert out there saying your product was great and customers would bite.

Now the reality: Sales and marketing is now about relationships and crucially the KLT principle.

People first need to know about you. They then need to like you. Finally before they will even consider buying from you they must trust you or in other words, K.L.T.

The moral of the story is this…

Don't be impatient and go in for the kill too soon. Build your marketing efforts around the KLT principle then follow up with an offer they can't refuse.
